Life, Love, and the Pursuit of Nerdiness

Well I totally spaced that it was the 16th of the month again, which is the day I’ve designated for self-portraits. So you can you expect to see my mug tomorrow.

For today’s installment, I’ve taken a picture of my work phone and my iPhone. Why? Because I’m trying desperately to win a radio contest to see U2 in Dublin at the end of July. To qualify, you have to be the ninth caller. There are four opportunities a day at fixed times, and then there will be a drawing. I’ve been known to have good luck, so I hope it comes around this time because I would love to go to that. I miss Dublin almost every day.

Wish me luck!

Yesterday I dropped my iPhone face down from about four feet onto tile. It messed up the display ever so slightly. So I got a new refurbished one for free, which was great. Love the Apple peeps. Anyway I came into work tonight to synchronize it with my iTunes. Here’s how I’ve been occupying my time…

Watched this a couple times. For whatever reason this part from Oceans 12 never gets old:

Watched this hilarious recap of Star Wars from someone who hasn’t really seen it:

Got kind of serious when I watched my favorite song from Phantom of the Opera “Point of No Return”:

I watched “A Season in Hell” Eddie Wilson tribute:

Of course I watched my favorite mvid ever! “Would You Erase Me?” from Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which uses Thom Yorke’s “The Eraser”. Have I mentioned that I want to marry Kate Winslet? I really do!

And “It’s A New Day” by Will.I.Am:

Well I gave into my cold and it got me good. I stayed home from work today to rest, but of course had quite a bit of work to do. Thankfully my boss let me do it from home. Tonight I tended to my sick iPhone. I went back to the Apple store for my appointment and they ended up giving me a refurbished phone. I had my phone for exactly one year, so I barely escaped without having to buy a new phone. Anyway, I came into work (that’s where I’m typing this from) to synchronize it before my trip.

Coming into work on a sick day sucks.

While at Walgreens I dropped my iPhone on it’s face. The SIM card got detached somehow, so I rushed it to the Apple store. On the way there I realized that it had been exactly one year since I bought it. Someone at the store was able to fix the SIM card, but now the display is a bit messed up and I fear it’s only going to get worse. Is it time to upgrade?

Life cannot go on without my iPhone.
