Aug 14 2009: BBQ at Work
Every summer we have a staff appreciation bbq on the lawn of one our buildings. It’s a pretty fun time, nicely catered, and a good time to catch up. I remember my very first one of these events back in 1999. I had to be coerced out of my office and I talked to no one besides my boss. These days I’m pretty comfortable around everybody, although I was surprised how many student employees I didn’t know. This year it was muggy and it started to rain, which was a nice change from previous years.
