Mar 31 2009: Rochelle Michael
So I didn’t take a picture, but I do have an interesting image to post. I’ve launched a new website for my writing and my effort to write a novel. I’ve picked a pen name since my own last name is in limbo and I’m not quite sure what it’s going to turn out to be in this life. So I thought I should just pick one and stick with it for these purposes. I decided on “Michael” because it’s a family name. My Grandmother on my father’s side was a Michael. She came from a huge family and had seven brothers and sisters, while my grandfather was an only child and had very little in the way of family. So more than Malouffs, we were much closer to the Michaels. Growing up I was a little jealous that it couldn’t just be our last name too because it’s so simple, yet it still connected us to our Lebanese roots. Furthermore, I’m used to being an RM anyway, so I also liked that I could still be one with Rochelle Michael. So that’s my logic behind the pen name. Anyway, I’m blogging over there about my process and my progress. I like the site and it’s my first effort with a wordpress.org installation and customization.

I've been averaging about 1,300 words a day on my novel.
