Jan 28 2009: I Could Never Be President

Because, apparently, I cannot measure properly. That’s also bad news for a knitter. I have no idea how I went wrong with this. So the question is, do I get a new frame or deal with it like this?

Barack would never be so careless.

Jan 27 2009: Projet trois cents soixante cinq

Today was my first French class, which was fantastic. I’d like to tell you that I wrote the title of this post from my new found French comprehension, but alas I did not. I had to use the Translator feature in Word. Below is my instructor Christina. I like her a lot so far. She barely spoke to us in English and that was incredibly helpful. She’s not French either, she’s American, so she is a truly good instructor. It made me wonder if any of my previous French teachers even knew how to speak it.

Bonjour!

Jan 26 2009: Downstairs Cat

Jan 26, 2009 by

It was a terribly cold day and night here. I’ve been so chilly. So I got under my big crocheted blanket and finished Dead Until Dark. Before I knew it my downstairs cat (Persephone was on my lap trying to get warm too.

Persephone is a sucker for a warm lap.

P.S., today is my sister Marissa’s 21st birthday and so I made her this little card…

Mariss-Maroo, Happy Birthday to You!

Jan 26, 2009 by

Happy birthday to my little sister! She’s not only a dear family member but she’s by far one of my best friends. She gets me and I get her like no one else can. It’s genetic or something. Maybe it’s all those nights we shared a room. She might tell you it’s because she modeled herself after me, but I don’t think that’s it. She is much more unique and cool than I am. I don’t know what it is that can bond sisters like that, but I just adore her.

How could we not be close when we were forced to take dance classes and wear ridiculous outfits?

Since she was born I have been more protective of her than anyone else (probably because I’m nine years older than her). But seriously, some of the worst nightmares I’ve ever had were dreams when she was in danger. If I ever lost her I would be losing a part of myself.

I’m so happy that we’re finally both adults. Life is going to be even more fun from here on out.

I love you Moo!

And you know who else loves her? Her adorable boyfriend Johnny. He wrote the sweetest note about her on their blog, Little Clouds. Talk about a loving gesture.

Jan 25 2009: Upstairs Cat

Jan 25, 2009 by

Since I spent most of my day upstairs doing laundry Penny was thrilled. I call her my upstairs cat and I call Persephone my downstairs cat. The cats must have made some bargain because if I’m downstairs Peresphone gets my lap and when I’m upstairs Penny gets it.

Although she didnt like when she got locked in the closet.
