No motivation
Well I’ve been pretty busy these past two weeks, or maybe just too lazy to pull a post together. But I’m here now and so here we go…
I’ve been teaching myself some new skills. I’ve been wanting to learn PHP and MySQL for a long time, and so I’m finally taking the time to learn them. Mostly I do it on weeknights and kind of on the weekends. I found a great PHP tutorial online, but then I went ahead and bought some books. The MySQL portion gave me some headaches this past weekend. What I really needed was a comprehensive guide, but instead I was just piecing information together to get going. I should have just driven into work and picked up my “Teach Yourself PHP, MySQL, and Apache” book, but didn’t. As someone who writes documentation for a living, I wasn’t too impressed with what I found out on the Internet about MySQL.
I hope to apply these new skills to my current job, but also on some freelance work. I need to pay down my debt, and my current pay check isn’t really cutting it. So some extra freelance stuff might be nice. Either that, or I’m going to go work at the mall. So that’s my real motivation.
Speaking of motivation, I suddenly just became very un-inspired to keep writing. Not sure why. I think I just want to take a nap. You can tell I’m tired, because I haven’t used one exclamation point. Heh.
