I’m walking, yes indeed.
I’ve made a great decision!
For like way too many years I have wanted to own a treadmill. I’ve decided to use my tax refund to get one! I am delighted by this concept.
There are many reasons why I haven’t gotten one yet. First, they are a bit costly…but can you really put a value on your health? Second, I never knew where to put one. Well I’ve got the space now. Third, I was always freaked out of having one when I lived above someone. Now that I don’t, there’s nothing stopping me.
I know a couple of people who have opted to get their own elliptical machines. They love having their own.
People make a lot of excuses not to exercise, and I’m totally guilty of that. I was thinking about why I do that. Is it that I just don’t want to exercise? No. I actually love it. It’s that I don’t want to leave my house. That’s what killed Curves for me, and why my rec center membership isn’t paying off. If I have the ability to watch my tv shows and be in my own home, next to my own shower, and have privacy as well, I truly believe I can exercise on a more regular basis. Privacy is a huge deal for me. I become obsessed with other people in the gym I am working out in. So much so, that I also become obsessed with how I appear to them. There is so much mental stuff that was happening that most of the time I would end up cutting my workout short. Damn that. Spending $1500 for piece of mind is definitely worth it as well.
So here’s the treadmill I’m getting:
It’s tax free and has free shipping. Perfect! I read some great reviews and they partner with a lot of hotels, like Hilton. It has speakers for an iPod, cooling fans, and it doesn’t make a ton of noise. How great!
One may be asking why I’m getting a treadmill and not some other fancy machine, like an elliptical. First, for whatever reason, my body doesn’t do elliptical machines. I try them all the time at the gym, hoping I will get it. It never works out. I think it has to do with my poor deformity. My feet turn out (way out) naturally. Yes, I look like a penguin. Every time I use an elliptical machine my knees start hurting right away because they have to be turned in. So mostly that is why.
One may be asking, why don’t you just go for a walk outside. It’s free! This is really easy for me to answer. First, there’s no TV outside. Let’s be honest, TV is the carrot and I am the mule. Yes, there’s nature and all it’s bounty, but let’s be realistic. If I’m going to be watching as much crap as I am, then I should maybe exercise while I do it so my ass doesn’t outgrow my couch. Also, I’m actually afraid of going for walks by myself. Many like to make fun of me for this, but it’s just how I feel. Every time I think of taking a walk by myself I think about never being found again. I think about the investigation that would happen. The detectives would piece together that I had left my purse at home, yet there was no sign of a break in. Maybe she was going for a walk, but where? Dumb I know, but it prevents me from moving and so this little device erases all that for me.
Anyway, I know this blog entry has been a lot of justification, which wasn’t really necessary, but I guess it was good for my own sake to know that I am making a good decision.

My heart in a cupcake
One who reads my blog may think that I would be having a miserable day. You know, with the lack of husband, and anniversary of getting engaged almost here (it’s tomorrow). But I love this holiday way too much. I know that I’m in the minority on this one, but I think it is such a fun and cute holiday. Maybe it’s all the pink and red. I truly am such a girly girl.
So last night I made some adorable cupcakes for my co-workers to enjoy. I had a lot of fun doing it! This morning, when I woke up and checked my iPhone, there was a cute text message from Brian waiting for me that said “HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY ROCHELLE!!” That was a great way to wake up. We spent at least an hour on the phone last night just chatting. I think he knows how much this holiday and these three days mean to me.
He’s in Orlando currently doing a training (probably as we speak) to a group of 60 men and women about Live TV (the company that puts the tvs in Frontier’s planes).
I do have plans for tonight! I have a date with my sister. We’re going to a play (which, awkwardly, is about sex), and then having dinner. She’s super lonely today.
Anyway, more to come later!

My New Love

Because I haven’t really accomplished anything else today, I thought I should blog!
So this is my birthday week and it’s already turning out to be really great, and it’s still three days away!
First! I got an iPhone yesterday!!! I ended up getting the 16GB one. It’s fantastic! I have had so much fun playing with it today. It’s been great so far. I feel like such an Apple slut, but I totally go for it any time I get a chance.
Second! My family is coming up to spend the weekend with me. And my sister is going to be hanging with me, which is always so much fun.
Finally! This is my return of Saturn year, so hopefully some of my shit will get worked out. Speaking of getting my stuff worked out. Brian and I have been having a lot of positive conversations lately. I’m not sure what they mean, but I feel they are productive.
