Random Notes From the Knitter, Baker, and Ex of Many

Dec 18, 2007 by

So I had a pretty great weekend. You could say it was a lonely weekend since I had no face to face human interaction, but it was surprisingly not lonely. That’s right, I didn’t go out of the apartment the whole weekend. I did talk on the phone quite a bit, so maybe that is why it didn’t seem lonely.

I did a lot of Christmas knitting!

This included my Dad’s hat:

And one sock for the pair I’m making my mom.

She is going to be excited I think! I told her about my Dad’s hat and I think she got a bit jealous. Now I’m jealous because I love these socks! I made it shorter because I don’t have a lot of yarn for this. I realized while wearing this sock that I like it that way!

I did a lot of Christmas baking!

This included my chocolate chip cookies and my fudge.

I also added shortbread to the list this year.

I brought it a tray of goodies to just keep in my office for those who pass by.

I went to Franklin Covey and spent $145 on a planner and the pages inside. Starting January 1, I will have two pages for each day to keep track of daily action items and notes. I’m pretty excited about it. I hope that it works.

Even though I have this fancy thing, I still plan on using my beloved white board. I don’t know how I ever kept track of anything before this.

I realize I work in the tech field, but I seriously struggle with keeping to-dos electronically. I’ve tried so many different ways, and I just can’t keep up with it or pay attention to it.

The white board is in my face. It’s easy to add to and categorize. It completely helps me delegate. I love having such a non-tech way of handling my to-dos.

Other random notes about my life…

My ex-boyfriend e-mailed me in response to something I posted on MySpace. It was a really long and jolly letter. We never really talk at all. It was so random and unexpected.

Finally, here’s an adorable picture of my cats. They love to sit in the sun. I always enjoy it when they are doing the same thing or sitting in the same position facing the same direction.
