O Christmas Tree
When I had moved away from Brian I was really afraid of Christmas. Since it is such a wonderful time of year to spend with someone you love, I feared that I would be completely depressed and upset. I originally thought that I would not decorate for Christmas or have a tree, since I had given him ours (it was his to begin with). But I guess something happened to me over Thanksgiving break. Maybe it was all the Christmas movies I watched with my mom and her husband during that weekend or seeing Christmas start to sprout up everywhere, because now I am now totally into it and it is not making me as sad as I thought I would. I even bought a new Christmas tree!

The only thing missing is a star for it.
I have so many wonderful and meaningful ornaments, that I couldn’t resist getting them out. Many are from my childhood and others are from my dear friends. Some represent where I’ve been, and there are a handful that represent my time with Brian. I suppose it was those ornaments that I feared putting on a tree. But now that they are up, I am happy. You see every year that Brian and I were together I bought a silver ornament with the date on it that could hold a photograph of us together. Now that they are out and up, I’m thinking of buying a 2007 ornament for us.
Maybe I’m feeling uplifted because Brian and I are spending more time together. He helped me decorate my tree too. We had Celtic Woman playing in the background and the lights turned down so the tree was really illuminated. He even got a little teary eyed as he placed these meaningful ornaments on the tree. It was a nice moment.
Of course the cats love Christmas because it means interesting changes to the apartment and more stuff to play with! It didn’t take long for the tree to be up before Persephone laid down underneath it.
Besides hanging out with Brian and my family a lot lately, I’ve been knitting of course. I’m making slow progress on Mike’s socks.
At work I have my big card sorting exercise tomorrow that will help me determine some structure for the ITS website redesign. I’m having five groups come in to perform this exercise. It’s been quite a big job to get all of this organized, pick content, make cards, plan for food and the like. I hope that it turns out to be helpful. I’ll try and post some pictures.

everything looks lovely. I love where you’ve situated your tree. Nice architecture and next to a fire place. Sweet.
