Yarn, Chocolate, Emotions

Nov 12, 2007 by

Aghh…It’s Monday and dreary and my eyes are struggling to focus and I wish I could go back home and go to sleep. Only it’s Monday and I have work to do, so I am going to have to focus my eyes and stop making foolish wishes.

My weekend was all right. It was filled with various emotions, lots of yarn, too much chocolate, and of course laundry.

First about the yarn. I had my first “Knit Some Socks” class on Saturday. So far so good. I have found that I really enjoy knitting on small needles with light weight yarn. It creates such a nice fabric that it’s worth the time to do. The class went well and so far I haven’t made any mistakes, which can’t go on forever. I’m bound to slip up at least once and instead of K2, P2, I’ll K4 or something.

This is the progress I made at the class, and then I made a lot more progress at home, but didn’t get a picture of it to share.

This weekend I also worked on my hat for my intarsia knitting class. I like it a lot. The right side looks great. It’s hard to believe there’s a mess of bobbins behind it. Tonight I have my last class for intarsia knitting. I really wish I would have taken the fair isle knitting class instead, because that kind of color work really interests me. Sharon, the instructor, will be teaching it again probably in the beginning of 2008.

This weekend I also had my sister over to spend the night on Sunday. She’s Vegan, and so I decided to make her this delicious chocolate cake that I’ve been obsessively wanting to make for her. It turned out really tasty and super chocolatey, which I love!

For dinner I made a light spaghetti that she could enjoy as well. After dinner I made some Vegan cocoa to accompany the cake. It was chocolate overload, but totally delicious and fairly not bad for us!

For the part about my various emotions. Boy land continues to be complicated. First, I was feeling lonely at the beginning of the weekend, which made me somewhat dramatic. Second, Brian lied to me about going in San Francisco for no good reason. He truly lies just to lie I think. I wasn’t asking him to come over or anything, but he has to act busy. Don’t ask me how I know he wasn’t there, but I just knew it. Then, in the middle of the night Brian texted me and said “I kinda miss you :) ”. I texted back and said “I kinda miss you too…” I don’t know what to think. I don’t even want to get into it.

I did watch a fair amount of the West Wing this weekend and I spent time with my cats of course. How perfect, the newly single woman and her cats and yarn, right? I did snap these adorable pictures of them though:

They totally flock to me if I’m taking pictures. I guess I’m pretty lucky! Also, sitting on the window seat didn’t hurt. They are so curious all the time and the love to just follow me around. I can’t complain!

Hiiii! I’m sorry about the Brian weirdness and that you’re feeling blue. =( It sounds like you had fun with your sister though. And your knitting is awesome.. I’m jealous of it, it makes me want to take a knitting class too. I especially love the sock the way it’s starting out. Hope you’re having a good week! <3
