One Crazy June

Jun 30, 2007 by

Ok. I’m such a bad blogger. Shame on me. Here’s what’s up:

Las Vegas
Brian and I flew in on a Friday night and went directly to our hotel, the Excalibur. We had a great time gambling, eating, and drinking. On Saturday we went to the pool and that was our favorite part. Brian and I hadn’t been swimming together in ages so it was great to get in the pool and play! We both got burned but loved it. We then went on the Roller Coaster at the NY NY, which was a much more crazy experience than I was expecting. I totally got sick and had to sit down for a while afterwards. Eating lunch helped. We didn’t do much the rest of the afternoon. I definitely gambled for a while, and had no luck! We ended up chillin in this lounge watching sports and just relaxing. We saw so many wedding parties. One even came into the lounge after getting married. The bride was all decked out in her dress and tiara. She looked beautiful until I noticed her holding a cigarette and a beer. What an elegant combo! Saturday night we ended up going to bed early like old folks. Sunday morning we didn’t do much either. Just ate breakfast and gambled a bit more. Then at the airport the real fun began. Our 3:30 flight was oversold suddenly. As were the 5:00 and 7:00 flights. We ended up getting home around 1 a.m. I guess that’s the price you pay for flying for free. Overall it was a great trip and next time we go we want to stay at the Paris hotel.

Motorhoming It
Last weekend I went on my first trip in a motor home! Brian’s family all got together and took a motor home up to Torrington WY where his grandparents live. We had a great family reunion! We were there for two nights and pretty much sat around. I actually had a great time and being in the motor home was kind of fun. Our rented RV was brand new and 30 feet long. Brian and I got the back room, which was rad. Shawn and Cassied stayed in there with us, while Mom/Sam/Kevin/Tonia/Blake stayed in the house. It was a good time!

Getting Started with Campus Technology
Finished on time, with an earlier due date this year! That’s probably why I haven’t been blogging at all. It’s a great guide! I’ve combined both guides into one for all CU-Boulder peeps. I also took my own pictures of people using our technology, so the booklet is filled with photographs. I am so happy with it!

New Phone!
On Tuesday I got the Red razr phone from Sprint. I always get sad getting a new phone because I grow so attached to my old phone, however I got over it pretty fast. I love my new phone! I love having a bluetooth headset! I also have TV on my phone which is rad. I can watch live CNN, and lots of other channels. Send picture text messages, which is why I really wanted it since Brian and I are apart a lot this summer. I love doing what Bono tells me to do!

SISTER!
Brian has been in Phoenix this week and so my sister came up to stay with me. We’ve had a great time just hanging out together and watching some of our favorite movies…Elvis and Me, Eddie and the Cruisers, and Walk the Line. I’m sad to see her go.

Weekend Outlook
Brian comes home today! I will be happy to see him. Today I am having lunch with Candice. It is a Chinese tradition to hand deliver wedding invitations as much as possible. Howard’s family is insisting on this. I think it’s a pretty cool tradition. So she will be giving us our invitation today. I think the rest of the weekend will be very chill. We have been going, going, going. First the reunion, then Vegas, then family reunion. Our June was stupid crazy!

Insert Witty Title Here

Sometimes I am terrible at titles. Bleh!

Anyway, I’m back at work and so sad that my class is over. However, I do
have a bit of a fervor about work, which had been seriously lacking leading
up to yesterday. That’s really important because I need to make my big
publication by June 27 and I haven’t quite started. At least this time I’m
not redesigning it, so it should be pretty easy. I do have to combine the
two guides into one though.

Tonight I’m going to Roxeann’s for a CM “get together” class type thing. She
really wanted me to host a class, but I just don’t have anybody to invite,
so I told her that I would be a student in classes she’s having that needs
more people. I’m actually a little bit excited to go tonight. I do need to
order some products, so that should make her happy.

This weekend Brian and are traveling somewhere. I’m not sure where yet, but
it’s looking like Las Vegas. I would love to do a little gambling, and lay
out at the pool and work on my tan. I never do fun traveling during the
summer.

Since my publication is due early and not in mid-July, I think that I am
going to try and join Brian on the road. In July he’ll be traveling a lot
for work. He’ll be in Florida for almost two weeks. I’d love to just go to
Florida for a week and relax. He’ll be gone for work every now and again and
I could just read or lay by the pool. I never take vacations like that. Plus
his company will be paying for the hotel and the car, and the flight is
free. Couldn’t get any better!

Today I plan on starting the publication! I’m excited to use my new skills.

Photoshop Training & Bathroom Trips

Jun 11, 2007 by

Today and tomorrow I am in a Photoshop class. So far it's been really great, except that I am having a stomach issue. I'm not sure what caused it but I woke up this way. This always seems to happen when I am in situations that makes being sick a little more challenging. Fortunately, I am used to it, so I don't feel embarrassed everytime I get up to go to the restroom. Lunch was the worst of it, so I went to Target to get some medicine.

Anyway, I really like my instructor. She's the same one who taught my InDesign class. We did a section on using Adobe Bridge, and I was blown away at it's simplicity for batch renaming processes. I'm so dumb. This little tool would have saved me tons of time. I'm excited to start using it.

Brian is in San Jose today and will be in San Francisco tonight. He, and another co-worker, are training in both cities today and tomorrow. Tonight I plan on working on photos. I'm trying to get my wedding photos organized, in order, and into my PowerSort.

I organized our honeymoon photos last night, with the corresponding memorabilia! I'm really looking forward to that project!
