InDesign In My Heart
So my InDesign class is over and I’m a little sad. Being in class has been fun. Especially when the topic is something I am incredibly interested in. After the class I went to Barnes & Noble and went a little book crazy with my A-Card. Mike told me that we needed a CSS book, so I bought the definitive guide and the cookbook. I also ended up buying some interesting graphic design guides. Now that I am learning how to do things officially I would like know all the rules. A couple of times my instructor said “if it’s done that way then you know it’s someone new to desktop publishing,” in reference to bad design. I don’t think I’ve ever designed the bad ways she was pointing out, but I had no idea that it was a rule of thumb either.

The book we used in class. I’m excited to read the rest
This class has definitely peaked my interest. How great would it be to have my own business someday doing desktop publishing. There is so much more I need to know. Maybe just maybe, if I don’t have my own business I could maybe work over in University Communications, on the west side of the fifth floor.
I am enrolled in the advanced class, which will be much better for me. I was by far the most advanced student in class to the point it was embarrassing.
So tomorrow I am back to work, bleh. Although I am starting Weight Watchers tomorrow! I sort of went crazy on dinner tonight with this in mind. What a mistake. I am more ready then ever to start at WW.
