Wheels Guy

Happy Monday! Not. We had such a wonderful weekend that it is so hard to take work seriously. The weather is beautiful and I wanted to be outside playing.

Yesterday we didn’t end up going to the Rockies game, like I had wanted to. Sure enough, this happened:

Tulowitzki turns unassisted triple play.

Apparently this has only happened 12 other times in MLB history. Stupid!

They also won in extra innings with a Matt Holliday two-run homer.

We had a pretty fun time though. My dad and sister came over and we went to lunch at the ATL-BC. We then went to Borders and I found a great Knitting magazine with some of the cutest patterns in it I have ever seen! I snatched that up! After Borders we went to the mall and just looked around at stuff. We only stayed until 4. We parted ways with my dad and sister and went to Target to get groceries.

Once we got home we were waiting for “wheels guy” to come pick up the wheels that Brian posted on Craig’s List. While waiting we played outside! He got out his remote control truck, and that was really fun. I put on my roller-blades at one point and even rode around on Brian’s bike.

“Wheels Guy” showed up finally and he was weird, but the wheels are gone. We decided to go get some dinner at the Armadillo. It was so delicious. We’re thinking this might replace our Old Chicago Sunday tradition because the service is great there.

We were going to watch “You, Me, and Dupree” but it got too late. I started knitting a guage piece for some baby booties that I want to give to a co-worker of mine who is having a baby.

Tonight we’re going to grill out and watch the movie. Should be fun!

One Full Saturday

So yesterday was a great day of cropping! It started off with me driving on auto-pilot and getting on the highway to go to work instead of carrying on and going on Wadsworth. Stupid! I got there only ten minutes late, so it wasn’t too horrible.

I got a lot done too. I only do power layout so I laid out a lot of pages. From October through the blizzard, not bad. There was trip to San Francisco in there as well, so it all got done nicely.

It was a small group of eleven women, and we got to sit in a big circle and chat all day.

When I got home I found out that Brian had a jam packed day. First he put a ton of stuff from his garage on Craig’s List and got rid of some big stuff. He gave it away so people were eager. Then he went for another flying lesson which was good. He flew over Red Rocks and learned about mountain flying. Then he came home and took his bike downtown and did some riding around the Botanical Gardens. I was impressed!

So we decided to go to downtown and have dinner at the Celtic Tavern, which is one of our favorites. It was delicious! We didn’t stay too long because Brian was beat. So we left around 9:30 and came home. We didn’t do too much when we got back, and just went to bed really.

This morning we woke up before eight and have been doing chores all morning. My dad and sister are coming over any minute and we’re going to the Rockies game!

Question: What Kind of Bear is Best?

So last night I got home first and then Brian came back from his first flying lesson. He had a great time and flew all over Denver metro, except near DIA for obvious reasons. He plans on going for another lesson today. He says he can’t take too many lessons too quickly because it costs quite a bit of money each trip out. With his bigger pay check I think it is nice that he is holding some money back from our collective account so that he can do this.

We ended up having a late dinner and went to Chicago Unos. Our waitress was good, but I’m pretty sure she was on speed or something. She was just moving so fast. I wanted to grab ahold of her and yell “CALM DOWN”. It was a bit nuts

We came home and watched The Office, which was truly hilarious. Of course my favorite part was Jim dressed up as Dwight.

Today I am going to a scrapbooking event called “Memoranza”. It’s in Arvada. A full day of cropping should be nice.

So Brian has decided to start taking flying lessons! His first lesson was this afternoon. He’s learning at JeffCo Airport on a Cessna. He’s been really excited about this and I am so excited for him. I will try and chronicle some of his adventures. Eventually when he gets a pilots license we can rent a plane and go for a ride. Maybe go to Pueblo to eat at the Cactus Flower :-)

Jack of All Trades. Master of None.

That’s what I am. It can be so frustrating. I have no formal training in anything and no time to get training or train myself. So when complications happen with publications I get especially frustrated. There is so much I don’t know about desktop publishing and so when printers contact me asking me for things that I don’t know how to do or I get feedback that from the InDesign file was printing as a book, and so that extra page insert got all messed up. I hate it. I should just not do it anymore. I could say that I am not capable and then people wouldn’t get something for nothing around here. They would have to pay a professional to do it. Because a professional I am not. Same goes for Web.
